9. FIRE CALL SPACES & CARDS
When
a player lands on one of these spaces, it is their chance to win a
District. When landing here you must pick a card from the Fire Call
stack and attempt to complete the call, unless you already own the
District or you are covering the last District and it would win the
game for one of your opponents (See Winning The Game). On each FIRE
CALL card a District number will be indicated below, this is the
District you are attempting to win. There will also be a list of
different pieces of Fire Service Equipment in which you will need in
order to complete the FIRE CALL. The number of pieces you need
however; totally depends on your rank. Each rank on the FIRE CALL
card is indicated by a colour striped arrow. If you were a
“FIREFIGHTER”, you would require “ALL” nine pieces of Fire Service
Equipment asked for on each FIRE CALL card. However, if you were to
pick the following card and your Fire Service Badge was that of a
“CAPTAIN”, you would require an AERIAL TRUCK, VENTILATION SAW, CLASS
“A” FOAM, CASCADE SYSTEM, THERMAL IMAGER, VEHICLE EXTRICATION and a
GAS DETECTOR in order to complete the Fire Call. If you were
successful in completing this Fire Call, you would than place one of
your Fire Departments District Markers over District # 8 on the
board.
If
the District has already been covered by one of your opponents
District Markers, you would immediately replace their District
Marker with one of your own. To do this you must possess or acquire
the necessary Fire Department cards through Mutual Aid, to complete
the Fire Call and earn your right for the District. All discarded
Fire Call cards are to be placed face up in a pile next to the Fire
Call stack, and reshuffled when the draw pile is depleted to be used
again. In the event a player cannot complete a Fire Call, the player
is not penalized, and play just moves to the next participating
player.
